She breeds easily, carries pregnancies without issue, and produces crias that thrive from day one. Big, beautifully built, and genetically loaded, she represents the next generation of excellence from our program. As a daughter of our exceptional foundation dam Sweet Breeze, Obsession carries the same remarkable longevity of fineness that defines Breeze’s entire line. Check out her 2016 histogram uploaded here. Even early in her career, Obsession stood out. She has a large, well-balanced frame with impressive bone—so much so that Wade Geese mistook her for a two-year-old in the Get of Sire competition at Gold Country Gathering when she was only 13 months old. Her phenotype is exactly what you want in a breeding female: strong, correct, and commanding in presence. As a production dam, Obsession has been everything we hoped for. Even as an unproven maiden, she handled gestation, birthing, bonding, and nursing with complete ease. She is the kind of dam that makes breeding enjoyable—reliable, maternal, and consistent. She earned 2nd place at CABA in juvenile white full-fleece halter, with judges praising her fineness and uniformity of fineness—two traits that define her fleece today. Her most recent cria sold at just two months old because of his gentle, people-loving nature—perfect for a family farm. Grace is our go-to alpaca for weddings, farm tours, and public events. She is calm, confident, and genuinely enjoys people. Her daughter, Joy, inherited the same temperament, so when we’re hired for weddings, it’s always mother and daughter who represent our ranch. And the best part? They’re not just sweet—they’re beautifully alpacas with elite fleece traits. Grace is sired by Silver Rose Overture and out of Tempi, our last remaining daughter of Hemingway’s Bogart. The pairing was so successful that we plan to repeat it. Her EPDs are exactly where a breeder wants them—all between 1% and 15%, with most in the top ranges. She ranks in the top 1% for fleece weight, reinforcing our focus on density. This year’s cria crop was almost entirely female, and among the most exciting arrivals were the two daughters we were fortunate to get from Snowmass Cold Cash. His unexpected passing shortly after we purchased him makes these females even more precious. River’s Cashew is one of the gems who will now carry his genetics forward in our breeding program. Cashew’s dam, Bogart’s Temptress (Tempi), is one of the last offspring of our first herdsire, Hemingway’s Bogart. Through Tempi, Cashew becomes a beautiful bridge between our foundational Bogart line and the elite Snowmass genetics of Cold Cash. Her pedigree is a powerful blend: Snowmass Subzero, Matrix, and Quechua on her sire’s side, paired with the strength of Accoyo and Snowmass lines on her dam’s side. Cashew’s fleece is everything we hoped for—full Grade 1, with minimal medullation, soft handle, strong uniformity, and an admirable staple length. Her EPDs reflect her quality: less than 5% in seven of eight traits, with a particularly strong staple length EPD. Her fleece weight tells the rest of the story: 11.4 lbs in 2025 13.8 lbs in 2026 That is true density, and we fully expect her fleece weight EPD to improve even further when the 2026 results are released. Take a look at her 2026 histogram, which is identical to her 2025 histogram. Cashew is now bred to Red Granite’s Pruet, a pairing chosen specifically to enhance staple length while preserving her elite density and fineness. With her genetics, fleece quality, phenotype, and calm disposition, Cashew is poised to become top-tier seed stock for any breeder—new or established. We are eagerly awaiting her first cria.

Jewel carries an unusually elite concentration of Snowmass genetics. Her pedigree includes Matrix, Quechua, Road Warrior, Polaris, and Nautilus on the dam’s side , and Quechua, Accoyo Elite, and Matrix again on the sire’s side . This double-stacking of Matrix and Quechua is rare and highly sought after for uniformity and fineness. 2. Her fleece quality is already performing at a high level In the 2024 PNAA IFA fleece show, Jewel’s fleece scored: Grade 1 fineness 18.7 micron average 5.0-inch staple length 0.25-inch length variation These are exceptional numbers for a young alpaca and indicate strong potential for elite adult fleece. 3. Judges specifically praised her staple length and density. Amanda VandenBosch noted Jewel had “good staple length” and “moderate density to staple". This combination—long staple with density—is one of the hardest traits to achieve simultaneously. 4. Jewel is already showing longevity of fineness. Her AFD remains 21 microns in 2026, and she is demonstrating the same long-term fineness you see in our best foundation dams. One characteristic we typically see in our dams is longevity of fineness; Jewel is showing that characteristic, longevity of fineness is one of the most valuable fleece traits in Huacaya breeding. 5. Her EPD profile is strong across all traits which fits with our ranch standard of “all traits below the 15th percentile,” but Jewel exceeds that—she is below the 10th percentile in every trait but staple length which is under 25th percentile. Even more impressive: her fleece weight is under the 1st percentile, meaning she ranks among the densest alpacas in the national database. 6. Her density is likely driven by her exceptional staple length. This is a fascinating genetic insight—long staple length often correlates with lower density, but Jewel breaks that pattern. 7. She is bred to Red Granite's Pruet specifically to keep enhancing her fleece strengths. Red Granite’s Pruet is expected to improve her offspring’s fleece while maintaining her excellent staple length. This is a strategically aligned pairing based on her EPD profile. 8.
